Annual Christmas Shoebox Toiletry Drive 2019

posted Dec 5, 2019, 7:02 AM by Amanda Salinas

In the spirit of Christmas, from now until Friday December 13th, Georges Vanier is collecting toiletry items, mitts, toques, socks and small treats for the Shepherds of Good Hope and Operation Come Home, two important organizations in our community that offer significant support to homeless adults and teenagers.

The Social Justice club will be organizing the items into Christmas shoebox size gift boxes to be distributed. If you wish to support this initiative, the following items would be greatly appreciated. We have assigned items to each grade level in attempts to collect an even distribution of items, but please feel free to donate any item(s) on the full list that you wish.

In addition, overall, we are looking to collect and would appreciate the following:

  • $5 Tim Hortons/$5 McDonalds Cards
  • Donations of Dollar Store Christmas boxes and Cardboard baking boxes (shoebox size) to bundle the items in. These boxes will be extremely important in order to package up the donations and have them ready to deliver.

Thank you in advance for your support of this initiative to help spread some cheer to those less fortunate!
