Summer Reading Club Outreach
Dear Parents,
I am writing to invite families at Georges Vanier to visit the Ottawa Public Library this summer to take part in the annual, Canada-wide TD Summer Reading Club literacy initiative.
The TD Summer Reading Club (TDSRC) is Canada’s biggest, bilingual summer reading program for kids of all ages, interests, and abilities. This free Club is offered at more than 2,200 public libraries across Canada, as well as online. The TDSRC celebrates Canadian authors, illustrators, and stories, and inspires kids to explore the fun of reading their way. This is key to building a lifelong love of reading.
For more information about the TDSRC, follow this link: www.tdsummerreadingclub.ca.
Children are invited to pick up their free TD Summer Reading Club kit at any OPL branch starting June 12th, and to join us at the library for free Club programs: https://biblioottawalibrary.ca/en/program. We hope to engage all children in our city in the joy of reading this summer, supporting their continuing success at school next year.

Hot Dog Day - Friday, April 21st
Dear parents,
Next week, on February 22nd 2023, we will celebrate Ash Wednesday . Our parish will be having two Masses: 9:30a.m. & 7:00p.m.
Ash Wednesday begins the season of Lent, a time of sacrifice and repentance as we strive to turn our hearts to Jesus. The ashes we receive at church remind us of our mortality and the need to repent of our sins. The shape of the cross reminds us that we have a savior in Jesus Christ.
Remember, Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are days of “fast and abstinence” which means not eating meat, and eating only one main meal, and two smaller meals those days.
We look forward to entering the Lenten season with you!
